THE PHILIPPINES NEW TOURISM SLOGAN FROM WOW PH
As
Millennials, we have accustomed the former tourism slogans of “Wow Philippines”
etc. in 2002. Every administration has new tourism slogans. It’s more fun in
the Philippines in 2012 and Now, “Love the Philippines.” Wow Philippines by then
Tourism Sec. Richard Gordon has various phrases: “Wealth of Wonders,” “Warm
Over Winter,” and “Wacko Over Wildlife.”
"Pilipinas
Kay Ganda" was a short-lived advertising campaign launched in 2010 after
it was received negatively. People pointed out that its logo, which showed the
text "Pilipinas" in various colors and a thin font, was too similar
to that of Polish tourism campaign “Polska.” Then it became it’s more fun in
the Philippines.
Opinionated:
we could use first tourism slogan anew so we do not need to have new slogan.
Some
Facebook users commented that the new tourism slogan should not beg to love our
country by foreign tourist so it should be lovely Philippines.
At
present, The Department of Tourism (DOT) on Thursday said ₱49 million was spent
for the development of the government’s latest tourism campaign “Love the
Philippines.”
From
CNN Philippines’ The Source, Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco
said the budget was used for the creation of the logo; the conduct of the
global, regional, and local studies; and other components of the campaign.
“As far as next year is concerned, we are truly hopeful for support as far as
rolling out the campaign here and abroad,” Frasco also said, adding that the
DOT has submitted its proposed 2024 allocation to the Department of Budget and
Management.
On
June 27, the DOT unveiled its new tourism campaign “Love the Philippines,”
replacing "It's More Fun in the Philippines" launched in 2012.
She
noted that beyond ‘fun,’ travelers have also yet to see more of the
Philippines’ culture and heritage, tapestry of communities and indigenous
peoples and ethnic communities, foods, festivals, and sounds.
