Caring for medical helpers to gain resilience from their work in healing patients

Angat Buhay Chairperson Atty. Leni Robredo leads the non-government organization’s ‘Caring for Carers’ event with partners on Monday at the Museo ng Pag-asa in Quezon City. Forty parents and caregivers of children diagnosed with cancer from Kythe Foundation were given a ‘day-off’ and were provided an afternoon of free food, gift bags, and services from different partner organizations such as medical consultations, optical check-ups, massage, and make-up among others.

First story:

From July to December last year, more than 1,000 doctors, nurses, and non-medical volunteers collaborated in virtual checkups under the said program. In addition, nearly 800 COVID care kits were also distributed to beneficiaries from different areas and communities within the National Capital Region (NCR).

"Whatever illness and challenge comes, we can face it as long as we are brave," said Raffy Magno, executive director of Angat Buhay.

This 2023, Angat Buhay wants to further expand the Bayanihan e-Konsulta program, including the localization of services and the strengthening of mental health programs.
