CHRISTMAS VACAY AT BENGUET CORDILLERA 2022

VLOG:

This has been a while since the pre-pandemic traversed have the freedom to go anywhere without being cautious about our public health in 2019. Now, we are on revenge trips around tourist destinations in and out of the country whereas we went to Baguio city, Benguet to unwind with minimal restrictions although face mask is still advisable to wear for our own good voluntarily. We have stayed since Dec. 23 rd until 26 th day and we made a tour around Benguet after we checked-in at AirBNB transient house near Kennon Road.

We have started traversing at 5 am on the 1 st day of our trip to Baguio city. We stopped by at Manaoag church, Pangasinan to pray for everybody, to peeeeee since it is long journey slightly, to take photos with FAM and

we had lunch at Five star Bus Terminal, Sison, Pangasinan before we went up the mountain and felt the cold breeze. It has been many years since I last visited Baguio city and I was still excited. It is the City of pines and summer capital so there were thousands of local and foreign tourists in Baguio city that made heavy traffic from Kennon road and all the roads near scenic spots. We always want to feel the coldest weather especially it is the season of Amihan or Northeast monsoon so we wore Jackets or sweater but Most of us were wearing shorts to show leg muscle while wearing socks.

First and foremost, we stopped through Lion's Head in Kennon Road to take photos and this was the start of the tour with local tourists as well in the afternoon and we have perceived the cold weather at around 14 degrees. We were still discerned on wearing face masks except for travel photo-shoots. We have sensed to mesmerize the sunflower views everywhere in Benguet which it is picturesque. We have been gratified to gaze waterfalls along Kennon road. I missed zigzag roads uphill but dizzy sometimes. As far as I can recall, the well-known roads of Baguio are Session road, Marcos Highway and Camp John Hay. These roads have enormous vehicles that cause traffic since Holiday Rush.

We rested at Casa Victoria Transient house specifically Mellow Breeze Homestead near Maryknoll Ecological Sanctuary so I walked there to enjoy mini-forest. We stayed at casa Victoria compound since it has the Wi-Fi password.

Our Itineraries were Baguio Botanical Garden that we went at night to see amazing Christmas lights and garden across Asia, Bencab Museum in Tuba Benguet on the next day and after this, we ordered at Goodtaste restaurant for lunch to take home at bed and breakfast near Burnham Park which was Blockbuster as we were amazed with longest queued, they served healthy meals with little seasonings and it is still scrumptious such as Bird's Nest Soup and sautéed vegetable, Strawberry farm in La Trinidad, Benguet on Christmas day to shop local foods. We passed through valley of colors in La Trinidad, We made fun story about Boysen Brand paint as we saw faded paint colors of houses. The house paint shall be faded over the years.

Afterwards, we visited Diplomat Hotel which became Heritage National park, this has been known to have spirits or ghosts of the past. When we watch a TV show or Vlog, most of the time they were ghost hunting with paranormal experts so it is best to go at daylight since there is nothing to see at dark night. 10 pesos is the entrance fee of diplomat hotel for maintenance. We wondered with the bulk of tourists who were also enjoying the abandoned hotel.

We passed by at Laperal white house known to be haunted and located at Leonard Wood Road and is very prominent to passing vehicles. We planned to go to Mirador Heritage Park and Grotto but we were tired of trekking and this is near Diplomat Hotel. We observed Heavy traffic going to Diplomat hotel. As our Diver mentioned, we need to be wary in the right parking for the authority will remove the front car plate when we obstruct the busy roads. We parked a few steps from the gate in the fastest time. We just took group photos and inhaled the cold fresh air. We glared fog or sea of clouds. It is located at Dominican Hill, Diplomat Road, Baguio City and it is considered one of the historical places her e. Based on the historical marker of the Diplomat Hotel, the structure has been built on the year 1913 and was finished by the year 1915. However, back on those dates, the place was still called the Dominican Hill and Retreat House. During those times, the Dominican Hill and Retreat House served as a vacation house for the Dominicans at Baguio City's Dominican Hill. This has been Heritage Hill since 2004. This was Japanese headquarters and liberation and this place was massacred. This is a long history so just read the statute at the hotel or search it online.

Next spot was Camp John hay but it was full parking since it was Merry Christmas. We always peed due to cold weather.

On the last day, we went to Northern Blossom Flower Farm, Atok, Benguet, 3 hours from Baguio city. As we traversed, we may lose mobile signals in Atok yet at the Flower farm, we have mobile signal. Based on mobile weather app, Atok was 6 degrees at dawn, the lowest temperature at the moment. The entrance fee to Northern Blossom Flower Farm is 250 pesos and we can stay all we can, we drank unlimited Cordillera coffee as long as you have mug or paper cup that was provided but we were out of Bread due to insisted public demand.   WOW! Instagrammable and picturesque view of different flowers.

We brought food allowance on the van usually so we wouldn't be hungry. We have boiled eggs, Rellenyong Bangus or stuffed milkfish, Longganisa, Hotdogs, Kaldereta, Nuts, Sunflower seeds.  Our Noche Buena was Pesto pasta, Fruit salad, Food packs from the van, Lettuce salad and so on.
