Queen of Ph movies Susan Roces was laid to rest

The initials of Ms. Susan Roces’ real name, Jesusa Sonora Poe, is seen inscribed on the seal of her tomb while it awaits its grave marker. 

The Queen of Philippine Movies was laid to rest past noon today, in a tomb beside her late husband, National Artist for Cinema, Fernando Poe, Jr. 

Workers on Tuesday prepared the tombstone of the late veteran actress Susan Roces, who will be laid to rest next to her late husband and actor Fernando Poe Jr., at the Manila North Cemetery.

The wake and public viewing of the Queen of Philippine Cinema is extended until Wednesday at the Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig City. The interment will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022.

The Senate adopted Resolution 1002, which expressed the chamber’s sympathy on the passing of Roces, whose real name is Jesusa Purificacion Levy Sonora-Poe. Roces, mother of Sen. Grace Poe, died of cardiopulmonary arrest on May 20 at the age of 80. https://bit.ly/38ILvOo
