Live update: wind signals are lifted; Typhoon Ulysses will affect Quezon, Aurora and Manila

 13-Nov-2020 | PAGASA lifted all tropical wind signals as typhoon exits the Philippine territory today, Friday morning.  Its intensity weakens into severe tropical storm. The aftermath of typhoon has been seen on fallen leaves, flash floods and power outage as regions of Luzon has been whipped and lashed yesterday at dawn. 

Tomorrow, Friday, Typhoon #UlyssesPH shall move outside the Philippines after passing west philippine sea. Vietnam will be the next stop of the typhoon on Saturday.  

TYPHOON "ULYSSES" FURTHER INTENSIFIES AND THE CENTER OF ITS EYE HAS MADE LANDFALL IN THE VICINITY OF PATNANUNGAN, QUEZON. Destructive typhoon-force winds and intense with at times torrential rainfall associated with the region of the eyewall and inner rainbands of the typhoon will be experienced over central and southern portions of Aurora, the northern and central portion of Quezon including Polillo Islands, and the western portion of Camarines Norte within the next three hours. Heavy damage to infrastructure and vegetation is expected. At 10:00 PM today, the center of the eye of Typhoon "ULYSSES" was located based on all available data including those from Daet and Baler Doppler Weather Radars at 70 km East of Infanta, Quezon (14.8°N, 122.3°E) and at 10:30 PM, it was located in the vicinity of Patnanungan, Quezon. 

Bulacan is under Orange rainfall warning and nearby areas. The eye of Typhoon #UlyssesPH has made its second landfall in the vicinity of Burdeos, Quezon at 11:20 PM, according to PAGASA.

Tropical storm Ulysses is now  a Typhoon with 125 kmh strength moving west northwestward towards Quezon-Aurora. This shall bring heaviest rains as it crosses the Philippine landmass.

Signal no. 3 has been raised to Metro Manila, Bulacan, Pampanga, Nueve Ecija, Aurora, Bataan, Quezon province including polilio island, large portion of Bicol region.

It will intensify into typhoon before it makes landfall at Bicol region. The severe tropical storm Ulysses has a wide range which covers almost the whole Philippine area of ​​responsibility. There will be preemptive evacuation in Quezon province and Camarines Norte.

Possible storm surge shall affect low lying areas or coastal areas in Bulacan, Aurora, Bataan and Pampanga. You need to evacuate as recommended by NDRRMC. 

 Tropical Storm Ulysses, the country's 21st cyclone, is forecast to directly hit or pass near Metro Manila on Thursday, DOST PAGASA said. At 7:00 PM today, the center of Severe Tropical Storm "ULYSSES" was estimated based on all available data at 425 km East of Daet, Camarines Norte and it is moving west north westward at 30kmh. The international name is vamco.

Track: “ULYSSES” will move generally westward towards Camarines Norte-Quezon area. On the forecast track, the center of “ULYSSES” is more likely to make landfall over Quezon on Thursday early morning, with a close approach of Catanduanes and Camarines Norte tomorrow afternoon and evening, respectively. However, slight southward shift in the orientation of the track forecast shows an increasing likelihood of landfall over Camarines Norte tomorrow afternoon or evening. I ntensity: Owing to favorable conditions, "ULYSSES" may rapidly intensify into typhoon category by tomorrow morning and reach its peak intensity (130-155 km / h) tomorrow afternoon or evening.
