Berjaya hotel statement; Gwyneth chua as Poblacion girl for her viral topic of netizens

 Update:

According to the Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ), they were still waiting for the result of the genome sequencing samples from Chua to identify which COVID-19 variant she acquired.

The Department of Tourism (DOT) has suspended the accreditation of Berjaya Makati Hotel and revoked its permit as a multiple-use hotel for its failure to stop a guest from breaking quarantine rules.

“Berjaya Hotel Makati was also fined equivalent to twice the rack rate of its most expensive room,” the DOT said.

For Berjaya Makati Hotel’s part, it came forward and appealed for kindness, saying it does not tolerate violators amid public concerns on the establishment’s protocols.

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) said it is planning to file a hold departure order against the returning Filipino from the United States who skipped mandatory quarantine and attended a party in Makati.

According to Ian Cruz’s “24 Oras” report on Wednesday, the CIDG is preparing to file the hold departure order a day after it lodged a complaint before the Makati Prosecutor's Office.

Gwyneth Chua, her parents, five hotel personnel and her boyfriend were cited in the complaint for violation of Republic Act 11332 or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act.

“We are planning to file yung hold departure order para during the trial palagi pong maka-attend si Ms. Chua doon sa court hearing. In coordination po doon sa Makati Prosecutor’s Office,” the CIDG said. | GMANEWS
