Observed on the last Monday of August, National Heroes Day commemorates the Cry of Pugad Lawin, a revolt that kicked off the 1896 Philippine Revolution against the Spanish civilization and the long struggle toward that country's independence. This is a Non-working holiday for all workers and students.
New Heroes of 21st century should be given an honour as well for they boost the Philippine economy such as Front-end workers and OFW or Overseas Filipino workers.
