10-July-2020 | The house legislative franchise committee have voted for the renewal of franchise of abs-cbn with a total of 70-11 votes.
70 congressmen voted yes to shutdown while other members voted no, 2 members are inhibited and 1 member is abstained.
This is after several weeks of deliberations, the house panel has made a decision to a media giant, abs-cbn's another 25-year fresh franchise renewal.
Artists and employees of ABS-CBN are protesting in front of TV network's building to disagree with the decision of 70 house panels. They are doing media service to the people.
ABS-CBN continues to deliver news through their digital platforms although Congress denies the broadcast franchise to air on free TV.
OPINION: It is saddening news in the media industry to mitigate the over-the-air broadcast of one of the media giant.
