We have conspiracy on printing backlogs of national IDs. I believe it is easy to print a Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC ) ID cards just like in any other agencies who mandate wearing of IDs although you need to print million copies, it is still easy to print when we have tons of printers, staffs and the like hence, you might feel conspiracy since You can get Driver's license card on the day of registration or renewal so transportation department can lend you ID printers. Under the table is still burgeoning in atrocious management.
In common regions, it usually takes 7 to 14 days to deliver but The new national ID of PH shall take one year or more. Although Electronic ID is transient, Physical ID is still a must.
“The quantity of produced and delivered Philippine ID cards did not meet the requirement provided for in the terms of reference, thus causing delay to the PhilSys project of the government, intended to streamline the transactions in both the public and private sectors,” COA said. In a 2021 audit report on the BSP, the COA said the actual deliveries of pre-personalized cards by the contractor was 27,356,750 pieces as of the end of last year.
Under a memorandum of agreement, the BSP was supposed to produce 116 million pieces of pre-personalized ID cards for the PhilSys and to provide, manage and maintain the card personalization equipment that would interface with the PSA system.
