TYPHOON Rolly is now a SUPERTYPHOON raised to signal no. 5

1-Nov.-2020, MANILA, Philippines -  #SionyPH slightly intensifies and is now inside the Philippine Area of ​​Responsibility. It is entered the PAR at 8:00 AM today and it is moving generally northwestward until Monday evening, then slowly west-southwestward by Tuesday. It remains less likely to affect any portion of the country over the next 2 to 3 days. At 10:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Storm "SIONY" was estimated based on all available data at 1,365 km East of Central Luzon (16.0 ° N, 134.3 ° E). It has maximum sustained winds of 75 km / h near the center and gustiness of up to 90 km / h and is moving West Northwestward at 30 km / h.

Typhoon Rolly, international name Goni, the  strongest typhoonin the world in 2020, intensified further to a super typhoon early Sunday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration / PAGASA.  

Signal no. 3 under Cavite, NCR, Bulacan, Occidental Mindoro, Masbate, Pampanga, Bataan, Zambales, and Northern Samar. Please expect heaviest rains and strong winds within 18 hours. Please take extra safety measures according to NDRRMC or National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council text message. Possible storm surge from 2.1 up to 3 meters on the seashore as of 5:45 am.

In Lieu of this, PAGASA warned that Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 5 will be raised over Catanduanes, Eastern Camarines Sur, and Albay. Under Pagasa's public storm warning signal, TCWS No. 5 means that winds of more than 220 kilometers per hour (kph) is expected in at least 12 hours, and a storm surge of more than 3 meters is possible at coastal areas.

30-Oct.-2020 | At 3:00 AM today, the eye of Typhoon "ROLLY" (GONI) was estimated based on all available data at 1,195 km East of Central Luzon (16.4 ° N, 133.3 ° E) with maximum sustained winds of 140 km / h near the center and gustiness up to 170 km / h. It is moving Westward at 20 km / h. From PAGASA bureau. 

Tropical active cyclone Atsani was spotted outside the Philippine area of ​​responsibility or PAR which has the maximum sustained winds at 65 kmh near the eye. 

Severe tropical storm Rolly may be classified as Signal no. 3 or  4. According to the US Navy's Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC), Rolly (International name: Goni) may reach its peak in 48 hours, Saturday with maximum sustained winds of 130 knots and gusts of 160 knots, or 240 kilometers per hour (kph) and 296 kph, respectively. While based on DOST-PAGASA,  cyclones with wind speeds past 220 kph are already considered super typhoons.

This might be the first super typhoon for 2020 whenever possible.

At  05:00 am, 27 October 2020 | TYPHOON "QUINTA" CONTINUES TO MOVE WESTWARD OVER THE WEST PHILIPPINE SEA NORTH OF KALAYAAN ISLANDS.

  • "QUINTA" is forecast to exit the Philippine Area of ​​Responsibility this morning. The typhoon is expected to further intensify over the West Philippine Sea and reach its peak intensity within 24 hours.
  • Rainfall: Today, "QUINTA" will bring moderate to heavy rains over Western Visayas, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan including Calamian, Cuyo, and Kalayaan Islands, Aurora, Isabela, Cagayan and light to moderate with at times heavy rains over Zamboanga Peninsula, Bangsamoro, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and the rest of Luzon and Visayas.
